Watch: Cheteshwar Pujara hit an upper-cut six during a Division Two 2023 County Championship clash for Sussex against Durham in Hove en route to his maiden hundred of the season on Friday.
Pujara, who was making his full-time captaincy debut for Sussex, led the way with his 57th first-class ton, after walking out to bat at 44-2. The skipper hit 13 boundaries and a six during his knock, as he brought up his ton in 133 deliveries. He was eventually dismissed for 115 off 163 balls by Ben Raine to reduce Sussex to 246-7.
The Indian is turning out for Sussex for the second time in a row, after ending the 2022 County season with 1,094 runs in 13 innings with five hundreds at an average of 109.40. He also played for the team in the Royal London One-Day Cup, where he made 624 runs with three tons and two fifties.
