In a County Championship Division One match at Edgbaston, Middlesex bowled out Warwickshire for 60, setting several records in the process.

Middlesex opted to bowl in Birmingham and went to lunch at 9-1 after skittling out hosts Warwickshire for in 22.5 overs. This was despite Rob Yates (10), Ed Barnard (14), wicketkeeper Michael Burgess (12), and Oliver Hannon-Dalby (10 not out) all reaching double figures.
Barnard and Burgess added 16 for the seventh wicket, while the last-wicket pair of Hannon-Dalby and Mir Hamza accounted for another 12. They remained the only partnerships in excess of 10.
Ethan Bamber (5-20), Toby Roland-Jones (3-27), and Ryan Higgins (2-5) led the rout for Middlesex.
This was the lowest score for Warwickshire since Sussex bowled them out for 43 at the same venue in 1981. In the 21st century, their previous lowest team total was 69, against Yorkshire in 2015, also at Edgbaston.

This was also the lowest score by any side against Middlesex since they bowled out Glamorgan for 31 at Cardiff in 1997, and the joint-lowest in the 21st century. Middlesex had also bowled out Glamorgan for 60 at Swansea in 2007.

The last-wicket stand helped Warwickshire avert their lowest total against Middlesex in the format. That still remains the 55 at Lord’s in 1956. They were also bowled out for a total under 100 for the first time against Middlesex at a home venue.

Warwickshire were bowled out in 22.5 overs today. Their shortest all-out innings in first-class cricket was back in 1913, against Kent at Tonbridge. They were bowled out for 16 in 10.2 overs.
Somerset played the shortest ever all-out innings against Middlesex, back in 1899 at Lord’s. Middlesex bowled them out for 35 in 15 five-ball overs (12.3 six-ball overs).
At the time of writing, Middlesex are also struggling at 31-4 10-2, trailing by 29 runs in the first innings.
