Watch: Mohammad Rizwan was in County Championship action once again on Friday, taking a low catch to his right as Sussex bowled out Worcestershire for 491 on day two at New Road.
After Worcestershire finished day one of the match on 338-5, Grant Stewart was responsible for the first wicket of the morning, finding the outside edge of Ben Cox’s bat before Rizwan moved quickly to take the catch.
The Pakistan gloveman added another catch to his collection later on in the innings, holding on after a Henry Crocombe bouncer flicked Charlie Morris’ glove.
Rizwan made his County Championship debut last week when Sussex took on Derbyshire. In a high-scoring draw, he batted just once – hitting 22 off 32 balls – and took four catches.
Earlier this week, Rizwan was named Wisden’s Leading T20 Cricketer in the World in 2021 after a remarkable calendar year in the shortest international format. Rizwan hit 1,326 T20I runs in 2021 at an average of 73.66, a record-breaking feat, helping Pakistan to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in the process.
