Watch: Mohammad Rizwan held on to a stunning catch at first slip in Sussex’s County Championship encounter against Durham.
Normally a keeper, Rizwan took to the field without his gauntlets as the game petered out to a draw in the final session. Stationed at slip, the Pakistan star showed he’s just as skilled without the gloves as he is with them.
In the 103rd over of the Durham innings, Sussex all-rounder Delray Rawlins induced an edge off the opposition skipper Scott Borthwick. It hit the left glove of stand-in keeper Ali Orr, and ballooned up in the air. Rizwan kept his eye on the ball before leaping for it. He jumped to his back and managed to snatch a one-handed stunner.
Rizwan has enjoyed a strong game, notching his first half-century of his County Championship campaign in a big partnership with India batter Cheteshwar Pujara before the stellar catch.
