BAN vs SL: Preview and tem news
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, who have had a bitter, intense rivalry over the past decade, will play two Test matches. The tour has been evenly matched so far: Sri Lanka won the T20Is, while Bangladesh the ODIs, both by 2-1 margins.
The Test matches will be played at Sylhet from March 22 and at Chattogram from March 30, and will be part of the 2023-25 World Test Championship.
This will be the second series for both sides in the ongoing cycle. Having lost 0-2 against Pakistan at home, Sri Lanka are at ninth place, while a 1-1 home series draw against New Zealand have put Bangladesh in fourth place. If they win the series by any margin, Bangladesh will catapult New Zealand and secure third spot.
The two teams have met 24 times in Test cricket, of which Sri Lanka have won 18 and Bangladesh one, at the P Sara Oval in 2017. On home soil, Bangladesh have lost seven times against Sri Lanka and lost thrice.
