It’s the first time since 2015 that India are visiting Bangladesh for an ODI series, having lost to the hosts 2-1 in that three-match series. Since then, the two teams have met once in the Champions Trophy (2017), twice in the Asia Cup (2018) and once in the World Cup (2019). India won all four games. Overall, India have won 30 out of the 36 ODIs between the two sides, with Bangladesh winning five and one match ending in no result.
For Bangladesh, Litton Das will be leading the side, filling in for Tamim Iqbal who was ruled out of the ODIs due to a groin injury. India’s contingent, led by Rohit Sharma, is a mix of experienced stars and new-look players. KL Rahul will be the vice-captain in a team that also has Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli among the experienced lot. Mohammed Shami was initially named in the squad, but was withdrawn following a shoulder issue. Umran Malik is set to take his place in the side. Earlier Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the series as well.
