India are touring Bangladesh for three ODIs, on December 4, 7, and 10, and two Test matches, from December 14 and 22. The first two ODIs will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, and the third at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. As hosts, India have already qualified for the 2023 World Cup – and they are comfortably perched at the top of the table with 139 points anyway. With 120 points, Bangladesh are fifth, and have qualified as well.
For India, captain Rohit Sharma, vice-captain KL Rahul, Virat Kohli will all return after missing the New Zealand tour. However, Jasprit Bumrah is yet to recover from his injury, while Mohammed Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, and Yash Dayal, originally included for the ODIs, have opted out due to injuries. They have been replaced by Umran Malik, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Kuldeep Sen.
Bangladesh have Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah, but will miss their captain Tamim Iqbal, who is sitting out with a groin injury. Litton Das is set to become the 15th to lead Bangladesh in men’s ODIs.
