Watch: The heat is on in Bangladesh ahead of England’s white-ball visit – so much so that the visitors are losing their clothes as part of – what seems like at least – a unique fielding drill.
Just days ahead of the first ODI of the three-match series, the England team was seen engaging in a rather intriguing fielding session in Dhaka, even as their fellow Test match colleagues stumbled to a thrilling one-run loss, far away in Wellington.
At the centre of it was Mark Wood (who else). Usually the class clown in the England camp, Wood’s humorous ways have been well documented over the years. It isn’t apparent if this was a personal exercise or a team-bonding session or just good old-fashioned fielding drills, but Wood was seen undressing himself during a session of tennis ball high catching.
Fully clothed in a cap, the England tee and shorts – Wood dropped his shades as soon as the ball went up, and, in lightning-fast motion, proceeded to jump out of his top as he placed himself to take the catch. He tried to get out of his shorts too, but it was too late – and it tangled around his shoe while he, most importantly, managed to complete the catch, topless and in his inner shorts. All in all, it was probably a good test of Wood’s speed (if you need that at all) and positioning.
Cricket’s really becoming more and more innovative. Or bizarre. You decide.

Nothing to see here. Just Mark Wood being Mark Wood.
