The Afghanistan tour of Bangladesh is all set to commence from February 23, 2022 – here are the fixtures, schedule, matches for Ban vs Afg 2022 ODI & T20I series.

This will be Afghanistan’s third tour of the country. On the first tour in 2016, they managed to win an ODI in Mirpur. On their next trip, they won a historic Test match at Chittagong. They will be hoping to round off this trip with series wins in ODIs and T20Is.

The series will also be important from the perspective of the ODI Super League. Bangladesh have 80 points from 12 contests in the league, while Afghanistan have 60 points from six games. Both sides would look at the three-match ODI series as an opportunity to gain more points and strengthen their position in the league to ensure direct qualification for the 2023 World Cup in India.

Afghanistan have sent a full-strength squad for this tour. Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead the side in ODIs, while Mohammad Nabi will lead the team in T20Is.

Earlier it was reported that several members of the Afghanistan squad had tested positive for Covid-19 in Bangladesh. The squad underwent 48 hours isolation period, and all the players returned negative tests in recent tests.
