Watch: Kevin Sinclair, batting at No.8 on West Indies Test debut, delivered a stroke to remember, holding the pose even as he ran down the wicket after nailing a picture-perfect straight drive.

West Indies fans had already been given reason to celebrate, with Joshua Da Silva and Kavem Hodge putting on a 149-run stand to rescue their side from 64-5. After being bowled out for 188 and 120 in their first-Test defeat, they are on track for the highest total of the series.

The partnership was eventually ended when Da Silva was pinned lbw, and that brought Sinclair to the crease. The 24-year-old Guyanese all-rounder showed his mettle, driving Mitchell Starc back down the ground with a high elbow in place. His batting partner had to sway out the way. He then held the pose, advancing down the track towards the non-striker’s end. There was no need to run, with the ball racing to the rope.
