The two teams will play two T20Is in Queensland and Brisbane as part of their participation for the T20 WC in the same country later in October. The Australia side will be bolstered by the return of a few of their first-choice players, who missed the recent India tour. Mitchell Marsh, Mitchell Starc and Marcus Stoinis return to the squad from injuries, as does David Warner, who was rested for the trip.
Cameron Green, who starred in the T20Is against India, is also part of the squad, although he is not in the Australia unit for the T20 World Cup.
West Indies, on the other hand, are yet to name their squad for the series. Their World Cup contingent, led by Nicholas Pooran, does not feature Andre Russell and Sunil Narine but has a few new faces, including the recently-capped 30-year-old spinner Yannic Cariah.
After the 2022 T20 World Cup, the two teams will meet again, this time for a two-match Test series that will begin on November 30. Tests will be held in Perth and Adelaide.
