The third Australia-Pakistan Test at the SCG beginning on January 3 is expected to be rain-affected. Here are the weather updates for AUS vs PAK 2024, including rain forecast and daily weather predictions.

The match will begin on Wednesday at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground and will also be David Warner’s final Test. The left-hander will retire from Test cricket at his home ground, but the clash could be affected by rain with predictions of rainfall throughout the next five days. Australia have already won the series 2-0.

Sydney rain forecast: Day one

There is a 40 percent chance of rain during the day with heavy winds also expected to lash the city. Accuweather says there will be “some sun, then clouds with a stray thunderstorm” around 11 am local time, when the toss is scheduled.

It could cause a delay in the match start, with the rain getting heavier over the next few hours. There is a 50 percent chance of rain throughout the entire afternoon, until 4 pm local time.

Sydney rain forecast: Day two

Thursday will receive the maximum rainfall in this week, with a 70 percent chance of showers on day two of the Test match. There is also a prediction of strong winds up to 26kmph through the afternoon, which will benefit the fast bowlers if play is possible.

For over six hours after the scheduled start of the Test, there will be more than 50 percent rain, as predicted by Accuweather.

Sydney rain forecast: Day three

Another windy day, with Accuweather predicting breeze over 28kmph in the afternoon. There is expected to be rain at the start of the game, which will reduce significantly in the afternoon.

The first clear day of the Test match, with Accuweather predicting a “beautiful” day with periods of sunshine and clouds. The maximum temperature is predicted at 23 degree Celsius, with the minimum temperature at 18 degrees.

Sydney rain forecast: Day five

The last day of the Test is likely to be windy with speeds of 24kmph but rain is unlikely. There is only a four percent chance of rain.
