SL vs PAK, latest weather updates: Rain forecast in Colombo for Sri Lanka v Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours match

SL vs PAK Asia Cup Super Fours rain forecast

Pakistan‘s Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours match against Sri Lanka is scheduled for September 14 in Colombo. Here are the weather updates for the SL vs PAK ODI including the latest rain prediction.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have one more match left in the Super Fours of the 2023 Asia Cup. After India’s victory over Sri Lanka on September 12, the Pakistan-Sri Lanka game has become a virtual semifinal with the winner to qualify for the final alongside India and the loser to be eliminated.

However, if rain plays spoilsport and washes the match out, Sri Lanka will qualify for the final ahead of Pakistan on the basis of having a superior Net Run Rate.

Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka will come into this game on the back of defeats against India and victories against Bangladesh. Sri Lanka’s hot streak of 13 consecutive ODI victories might have recently been broken, but they gave India a run for their money and would still be relatively high on confidence. Pakistan, on the other hand, were given a thrashing by India and will have to put up a monumental effort to defeat Sri Lanka at home.

The weather forecast for the Sri Lanka-Pakistan game is not the brightest, but it is relatively better than what it has been for the last few games in Colombo.

Asia Cup 2023, SL vs PAK: What is the rain forecast?

AccuWeather predicts September 14 to be “cloudy with a couple of showers and a thunderstorm” during the day and “cloudy with a thunderstorm in spots” during the night. The probability of rain is high during the day – 93 per cent – but it reduces to 48 per cent during the night.

BBC Weather’s rain predictor varies between 30 to 40 per cent during the match hours, with temperatures supposed to range between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius.

Weather.com has fluctuating predictions for rainfall during match hours, with thunderstorms predicted towards the start of the game and towards the mid-innings interval. The other parts of the match are supposed to be cloudy, but dry.
