Watch: Virat Kohli fell for a four-ball duck in India’s Asia Cup clash against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, bowled by Dilshan Madushanka.
The former India captain entered the match on the back of successive half-centuries but, looking to smash the ball through the leg side, had his stumps uprooted in the third over after Sri Lanka chose to bowl first.
Kohli’s dismissal came less than an over after KL Rahul had been trapped LBW by Maheesh Theekshana for 6. Nonetheless, Rohit Sharma advanced to a 41-ball 72, his highest T20I score since last year’s World Cup. India finished their innings on 173-8 as Madushanka took 3-24.
India defeated both Pakistan and Hong Kong in the group stage of the Asia Cup but succumbed to a five-wicket defeat when facing the former in the Super Four stage of the tournament.
