Watch: Rishabh Pant played one of the most audacious helicopter shots that you’re every likely to see as he prepared for India’s Asia Cup campaign.

The 2022 Asia Cup is taking place in the UAE from August 27 to September 11. It is the 15th edition of the competition and the first since 2018, a competition won by India.

India’s campaign kicks off against Pakistan on August 28 before they play Hong Kong on August 31.

In total, there are six teams starting in two groups of three with the top two advancing to the Super Fours. The top two in the Super Fours will then play against each other in the final.

India have been preparing in the nets with left-handers Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja putting on a show.

Pant in particular caught the eye, as the wicketkeeping superstar played several jaw-dropping shots before unfurling his pièce de résistance: the helicopter shot, whipped out with the merest hint of foot movement, before holding the pose.

The Asia Cup format this year is T20 cricket, which is only the second time the competition has been the shortest format. It is normally competed as a fifty over competition.

In T20I cricket, Pant has scored 883 runs at an average of 23.86 and a strike-rate of 126.32.
