Watch: Naseem Shah dismissed Sri Lanka opener Kusal Mendis with a ripper in the first over of the Asia Cup final in Dubai on Sunday.
The 19-year-old gave Pakistan a cracking start in the summit clash, dismissing the in-form Mendis with a snorter on just the third delivery of the game. The Sri Lanka batter, who had scored two fifties in his last three outings in the Asia Cup, was clean-bowled by a 142kph inswinger from Naseem, with the good-length ball tailing back in, past his defence and onto the off-stump.
Mendis was dismissed for a first-ball duck as Sri Lanka lost their first wicket for two runs. They were reduced to 42-3 after the end of the powerplay overs, with Haris Rauf picking up the other two wickets.
