Watch: Babar Azam Ripped Out For Golden Duck By 21-Year-Old Afghanistan Left-Arm Quick

Watch: Pakistan captain Babar Azam was dismissed for a rare golden duck by Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi in the Asia Cup.

The 21-year-old left-arm quick had Babar lbw in the first over of Pakistan’s chase, giving his side a boost in a must-win game.

Batting first, Afghanistan had managed only 129-6, with six of the top seven making it to double figures, but only Rahmanullah Gurbaz managing to score at a strike-rate above 125. All of Pakistan’s bowlers struck at least once, giving them an excellent start in a game which, if won, would confirm their place in the Asia Cup final.

However, Farooqi got the defence off to the perfect start, nailing Babar on his pads for a first-baller. Babar, having earlier today lost his status as the No.1 ranked T20I batter in the world, had only been dismissed off his first ball faced once before in T20I cricket, against South Africa in February 2021, although on that occasion it was a run out that saw him on his way.
