Watch: Jonny Bairstow claimed a brilliant, diving one-handed catch to dismiss Mitchell Marsh and put England on top in the fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford.

Bairstow has come under fire for his error-prone glovework in this series, and he clearly enjoyed taking the screamer to dismiss one of Australia’s most dangerous players.

Woakes had already struck once in the over, pinning Cameron Green lbw, and following a single from Alex Carey, he had Australia’s other all-rounder in his pocket as well. He got the ball to move away and take an outside edge, with the ball travelling down and to Bairstow’s right.

It took a sharp piece of reactions to complete the dismissal, and Bairstow celebrated the special grab in emphatic style, with a sitting starfish pose followed by a fist-pump and roar.

The wicket left Australia seven down after being put into bat, with England needing to win to keep their hopes of regaining the Ashes alive.
