Australia have announced their updated squad for the last three Ashes Tests. Here’s all you need to know about the updated Australia squad for the last three ENG vs AUS Tests, including full team list and injury updates.

Before leaving for England, Australia had announced their squad for just the first three Test matches – the World Test Championship final and the first two Ashes Tests. They were expected to announce the squad for the last three Ashes Tests after the Lord’s Test.

Now that the second Test match has come to a conclusion, Australia have announced their revised squad for the last three Tests, which includes a couple of changes, one of which is forced.

Ashes 2023: Australia team news, injury updates

Nathan Lyon, who injured his calf on day two of the second Ashes Test at Lord’s, has been ruled out of the remainder of the series. The Lord’s Test was Lyon’s 100th consecutive Test match for Australia, which means the next Test at Headingley will be the first time in the last 101 Tests that Australia will be playing without Lyon.

Australia had the option of replacing Lyon with another spinner in the form of Matt Kuhnemann, who made his Test debut in India earlier this year and has played in the County Championship for Durham this season. But they have opted not to name a replacement.

Instead, they are trusting the young Todd Murphy, another spinner who made his Test debut on the tour of India earlier this year, to take over from Lyon.

Australia have also released Matt Renshaw from the squad. Renshaw was one of the four openers backed by Australia for the tour, but David Warner’s decent returns in the first two Tests and Usman Khawaja’s rock-solid form have probably convinced the selectors that they do not need a fourth opener.
