The fifth edition of the men’s Emerging Asia Cup will be played in Sri Lanka from July 13-July 23. Eight Asian teams will feature in the tournament, with seven of them being ‘A’ teams of their respective countries.
The women’s version of the same tournament was played last month in which India A women emerged victorious, defeating Bangladesh A women by 31 runs in the Final. While that tournament was played in the T20 format, the men’s event will be held in the 50-over format.

India have previously won the Men’s Emerging Asia Cup once, in 2013, with Sri Lanka winning twice and Pakistan once as well.
Men’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023: Format
The eight teams are divided into two groups of four each. India are placed in Group A alongside Nepal, UAE A, and Pakistan A. This is how the groups are divided:
Group A: India A, Pakistan A, UAE A, Nepal
Group B: Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, Oman A
Each team will play three games against the three other teams from their group. The top two teams from both groups will qualify for the semi-finals, with the winners of the semi-finals competing in the Final on July 23.
The matches will be played across three venues in Colombo: P Sara Oval, Singhalese Sports Club (SSC), and the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
