In this somewhat mixed bag of a quiz, you will be asked ten questions on Test cricketers and teams achieving major milestones.
Milestones are difficult to define. Cricketers grow up dreaming of their first Test caps. Once they get there, the ambitions expand. A hundred or a five-wicket haul can become the next goal. Or perhaps ten thousand runs or five hundred wickets.
Quiz! How well do you know the wicketkeepers who bowled?
Even greatest of cricketers did not achieve every landmark in Test cricket. Don Bradman, for example, fell agonisingly short of the 7,000-run mark (and more famously, an average of 100). Sachin Tendulkar never scored 250 or reached 500 in a series. Tim Southee and Makhaya Ntini did not get their 400th wickets. Derek Underwood, his 300th. Ian Healy, 400 dismissals. The USA and Canada played the first cricket match between two nations, but neither has played Test cricket yet.
Quiz! How well do you know these cricket songs and jingles?
Some, on the other hand, managed to get theirs. Starting his final Test match eight wickets short of the 800-wicket mark, Muttiah Muralidaran bowed out after reaching the milestone. John Bracewell reached both his 1,000th run and his 100th wicket in his final Test match. And so on.
Take our quiz to find how well do know who – or which team – reached which landmark and who did not.
