Don Bradman is almost universally acknowledged as the greatest batter to have played Test cricket. His average of 99.94 is an iconic number in the sport, and serves as the benchmark for excellence nearly a century on from when he played.
Bradman's career tally of runs was 6,996. By modern-day standards, this is relatively low tally for the best batter ever, but this is simply down to the fewer number of teams playing Test cricket in Bradman's era. Still, by no means is this a small number.
