In this quiz, you have to name all the players who have scored over 1,000 runs in men's ODIs with an average of over 50.
Dawid Malan announced his international retirement today (August 28), meaning he will leave the ODI format having scored 1,450 runs at an average of 55.76. He also scored six hundreds and seven half-centuries during his 30-match career. He is part of an exclusive club with at least 1,000 runs in men's ODIs at an average of 50 or more.
Of the 451 players who have scored more than 1,000 runs in men's ODIs, only 12 average 50 or more as of August 29, 2024. That elite group is whittled down even more by the two players who have had scored more than 10,000 runs in men's ODIs with an average of more than 50. Those two players are both from India, both former captains of their country across formats, but only one still plays international cricket.
Five of the group still play international cricket, including two for India, and one each for Pakistan, West Indies, and New Zealand. While India have three names on the list, South Africa and England have two, and Australia, Pakistan, West Indies, New Zealand and the Netherlands each have one.
You have four minutes to guess all 12 names, with the number of ODI runs they scored and the country they played for to help you.
