The 2022 Asia Cup took place in the UAE, with the final in Dubai. Tournament favourites India had been knocked out after losing to Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Super Four stage, and those two sides made it to the summit clash.
In the final, Sri Lanka slipped to 36-3 and 58-5, before one batter scored an unbeaten 71. He put on 58 for the sixth wicket with an all-rounder who scored 36, and was named the player of the tournament. A Pakistani pacer took 3-29.
In their chase, only three Pakistani players scored in double figures. One of them was an opener, who scored 55 as they were bowled out 23 runs short of Sri Lanka's total.
