In this quiz, you have to name both XIs of the Lord’s Test of 1991 – the last time Sri Lanka lost in the format in London.

Sri Lanka dominated the proceedings when they drew their first ever Test match on English soil, at Lord’s in 1984. However, England beat them in their next two Test matches in the country, in 1988 and 1991.

Sri Lanka were allotted only one Test match in 1998 as well, but a 10-wicket thrashing forced the organisers to host them for longer series in subsequent years. While they have never played at The Oval since then, they have drawn their five subsequent Tests at Lord’s since then, in 2002, 2006, 2011, 2014, and 2016.

The 1991 defeat at Lord’s, thus, remains Sri Lanka’s last in London. England’s first-drop batter, who sometimes kept wicket but not in this match, made 113 to take them to 282 as a Sri Lankan fast bowler claimed 5-69.

The same fast bowler then made 52 to take Sri Lanka to 213 as a Dominica-born England fast bowler took 7-70. The England captain then hit 174 and declared on 364-3. Chasing 423, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 285 in the final session. The chase was lit up by their No.6, who hit a 70-ball 66. His aggressive batting would make him one of the most-feared ODI openers later in the decade.

Can you name both XIs from that Test in four minutes?
