In this match, England chose to field first but the decision backfired as Australia put up 481, courtesy of a century from their No.3 and half-centuries from an opener, the No.5 batter and the No.9 batter.
Australia's pace attack then took over, skittling England for 149 and then 286 after enforcing the follow-on to secure an innings victory inside four days.
This was the Australian captain's final Test match, something he had announced after the conclusion of the fourth Test. He retired with over 16,000 international runs to his name, across formats.
