We’ve tried hard to keep to a fair definition of ‘English batter’, with several players born elsewhere playing for England or being qualified to, and others who started out in England going on to play international cricket elsewhere. We’ve tried to include only players eligible for England, meaning the likes of Cameron Delport, South African but an Essex stalwart, misses out.
