As of September 25, 2024, Indian left-armers have taken 2,339 Test wickets, next to only England’s 3,047. Australia, who started playing Test cricket 56 years before India, have only 2,244.
However, the top five bowlers on the India list amount to 1,189 of the wickets – more than half of the total tally. The list of leading left-armers among the Indian wicket-takers peters out rapidly, and only 19 of them have taken 25 wickets.
