India are the holders of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after claiming a historic victory in Australia two years ago. India face a much stiffer task this time around though, with Steve Smith and David Warner – both banned from the series in 2018/19 – back in action (although Warner will miss the first Test of the series through injury).
