India won four consecutive Test series against Australia – at home in 2016-17 and 2022-23, and in Australia in 2018-19 and 2020-21. The last two remain India’s only Test series wins in Australia. The streak finally ended with a 1-3 defeat in Australia in 2024-25.
All four wins came in four-match series where the last Test was a “live” match. India won all of these by 2-1 margins (the third Tests were drawn in the first three series, and the fourth in 2022-23).
