Biography
Standing at 6'6" and weighing around 140 kilograms, Rahkeem Cornwall is a deceptively tall and imposing all-rounder for West Indies. He is nicknamed as cricket's man mountain and is consistent for his domestic team. Cornwall made his First-class debut for the Leeward Islands in 2014 against Jamaica and played a blinder of an innings in the second innings but was able to take only 1 wicket in the entire match. In 2016, Rahkeem was a part of WICB president's squad against the Indians and impressed immediately with a fifer.
Cornwall's performance was even better in the series against Sri Lanka where he picked up 23 wickets in four unofficial Tests. Rahkeem was part of the St Lucia Stars in the CPL and in what was a poor season for the team, Cornwall was the bright spot as he performed well with both bat and ball. The big man was the leading wicket-taker for the Leeward Islands in the 2018-19 Super 50 tournament and finished with 14 wickets in 8 matches. Rahkeem followed this performance with 54 wickets in the regional 4-day tournament helping his team to reach 3rd position in the table. Consistent performances in the domestic league led to his selection in the West Indies squad for the Test series against India in 2019.
His debut against India was a decent one and in his second Test, while playing against Afghanistan in India, the giant bowler left his impact by claiming a 10-wicket haul.
