Biography
This red-haired fast bowler from Cape Province screamed onto the International arena with a blazing Test debut in 1997 in which he bowled a miserly 28 overs including 7 maidens at an impressive economy rate that fetched him 5 wickets. His scorching pace caused many people to liken him to the legendary Proteas fast bowler Alan Donald but after 14 Test matches in which he picked up 54 scalps and 21 ODI’s in which he bagged 21 wickets, Hayward faded out of International reckoning. He disappeared from the limelight in 2004 but three years later he was seen taking part in the controversial Indian Cricket league in which he formed an integral part of the Kolkata Tigers outfit.
