Biography

Michael Mason is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who earned his place into the national team via sheer hard work. He is a solid and reliable bowler who has the distinct ability to bowl long spells. The slim-built seamer is a useful bowler in the one-day matches and has done well in the limited opportunities that he has been offered.

The New Zealand coach considers him as the best line-and-length bowler in the country. The 33-year old believes in maintaining pressure on the batsmen by not giving away any free runs. His nagging accuracy is essential for him to pick up wickets at a crucial point in the game.

His international career has been dogged by injuries. But if he is able to keep himself fit, he can be a great addition to the New Zealand seam attack.
