Biography

A multi-talented top-order batsman, James Vince is another product of the Hampshire academy. With a mixture of sound technique and aggressive approach, James has been rated highly even by the likes of Duncan Fletcher who compared him with former England skipper Michael Vaughan.

James was the second-youngest player to pass 1,000 runs for Hampshire. He made a brilliant 75 on his LV County Championship debut against Nottinghamshire. Consistent performances made sure that he was a regular in the first eleven in 2010 and later that year he went on to score a scintillating 180 against a deadly Yorkshire bowling attack. He passed 1000 List A runs for the Lions in 2011 while playing against Bangladesh. James was a part of Hampshire’s T20 side in their race to win the 2012 domestic T20 competition and was thus named in the squad for the Champions League T20.
