A right-arm medium pacer, Sharath was a phenomenon in the 2013-14 Ranji season for Karnataka. The Mandya-born Sharath was spot on with his lines and lengths and gave a torrid time to the batsmen. His contribution was vital in helping Karnataka win the Ranji title for the 2013-14 season, none more so than his eight wickets against Ranji giants Mumbai which helped the Southern State claim an outright win over Mumbai, their first ever. He also ended up being the second highest wicket-taker of the season. This propelled his chances of playing in the cash-rich Indian T20 League and in his debut season of 2014, he will represent the Delhi franchise.
