Biography

One of the unsung heroes of the New South Wales squad, Ben Roher made his first appearance for the Blues in a Pura Cup match. He got out in the first innings scoring just five runs but in the second he scored 163. Thereby, he became the first player to score a century on debut for NSW, since the 1993-94 season.

Rohrer’s promising start earned him a first-class debut for NSW in 2007-08 against Tasmania. He sealed his position in the middle order and was a part of the team that won the inaugural Champions League T20. He couldn’t continue with the same kind of form and was later dropped from the side.

Rohrer managed to bounce back into the team because of his ability to adapt to all forms of the game. By the end of the 2009-10 season, he managed to score 235 first class runs at an average of almost 40. In following season, he impressed in the Big Bash where he scored 144 runs at a strike rate of 146.94. In 2013, Rohrer was on his way to India as he bagged a late entry into the Delhi Daredevils camp ahead of the sixth IPL edition.
