Biography
An emerging pace bowler, Abu Jayed made his First Class and List A debut way back in the year 2010 but had to wait for 8 years before representing Bangladesh at the international level. He started his career by playing a few T20I matches and was later on drafted in the Test squad.
In a short period, Abu Jayed managed to gain the confidence of the bowling coach, Courtney Walsh, and some of the senior players with his consistency in line and length. It came as a surprise for many when he was selected in the 2019 World Cup squad without having any ODI experience. But Abu showed his talent in the tri-series leading to the mega event when he claimed a 5-wicket haul in his only second ODI match.
