Watch: In an animated sendoff, Virat Kohli imitated Rilee Rossouw’s signature bazooka celebration after the latter was dismissed during the Punjab Kings-Royal Challengers Bengaluru IPL 2024 fixture on May 9.

Kohli, a livewire on the field, is known for his exaggerated celebrations and animated sendoffs, a few of which have been on display during this IPL. Once again, he was in the thick of action against Punjab on Thursday.

Playing a must-win match, Kohli’s 47-ball 92 helped Bengaluru post 241-7. Rossouw, who had a poor season until then, blasted a quickfire fifty that kept PBKS in the hunt. He brought out his customary bazooka celebration upon reaching the landmark. However, Karn Sharma had the last laugh off the final delivery of the ninth over by dismissing him for a 27-ball 61.

Kohli didn’t hold back and roared in joy, mimicking Rossouw’s signature celebration to savour the moment. The dismissal eventually triggered a collapse as Punjab were bundled out for 181 from 107-2.
