Watch: Sanju Samson effected a spectacular no-look run out, evoking memories of MS Dhoni, to dismiss Liam Livingstone in the IPL 2024 fixture between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals in Mullanpur on April 13.

Ashutosh Sharma, batting then on eight off five, played a shot to deep mid-wicket, ran for a single, and realised there was no run. He immediately sent back Liam Livingstone, who had already set off for the second run. Livingstone took a U-turn and tried to return to the crease.

Tanush Kotian picked up the ball and threw it towards Samson. The throw was a bit away from the stumps, but Samson gathered the ball and threw it in one motion at the wicket without looking at it. In the process, he rolled away to complete a spectacular run out.

The most famous instance of Dhoni pulling off a no-look run out was during an ODI between India and New Zealand in 2016. He showed excellent presence of mind while reverse flicking the ball onto the stumps in one motion to dismiss Ross Taylor.
