Bowling the 12th over with RCB at 77-4, Mustafizur Rahman pitched it short. Kohli, batting then on 21 off 19 tried to up the ante by playing a pull shot. While the aerial ball was approaching the mid-wicket boundary, Rahane backpedalled in pursuit of taking a catch. The ball nestled in his hands as Rahane slid to intercept it. However, he released the ball immediately upon releasing that he was close to the ropes. Rachin, by then, had reached the spot to pouch the ball safely, thus completing a spectacular relay catch.
Two balls later, Mustafizur castled Cameron Green for a sluggish 18, taking two in the over. That was not the only instance he handed twin blows to the opposition: In the sixth over, he took out Faf du Plessis for 35 off 23 before eliminating Rajat Patidar off the very next ball for a duck.
