Watch: Jake Fraser-McGurk provided another blistering start to Delhi Capitals during their home game against Rajasthan Royals in Delhi today (May 7).

Winning the toss, RR put DC into bat. Jake Fraser-McGurk, who came into the game as the only batter to have scored more than 200 runs at a strike rate of greater than 200 in IPL 2024, continued his cracking form at the top of the order.

After scoring only two runs from the first four balls of the opening over of the innings bowled by Trent Boult, Fraser-McGurk finally got his first boundary on the fifth ball as he drove Boult over mid-off.

He faced the entirety of Boult’s second over as well. This time he hit two fours and a six, racing off to 22 off 13 balls. Avesh Khan came on to bowl the fourth over next, and Fraser-McGurk took him apart.

He inside-edged the first ball past the leg stump for four; lofted the second and third balls over the infield on the off side, either side of point; and smashed the fourth over mid-off for the first six of the over. Another short ball outside off saw another flat-batted smash over the off side for four.

Fraser-McGurk completed the over with a second six, picking up a low full toss over mid-wicket to take the tally to 28 in the over and race from 22 to 50 in the space of six balls.

He reached fifty in just 19 balls, his third sub-20 balls half-century of the season. Unfortunately he was out very next ball, hitting a high full toss by R Ashwin straight to cover.
