SRH vs MI: IPL 2024 team news
Having narrowly lost the KKR in their tournament opener, Sunrisers go into the first home game of the season eager to get a monkey of their backs. Sunrisers lost seven out of eight home games last season, but there’s more hope of a change in form this time around.
Heinrich Klaasen’s devastating form was translated into the IPL from his performances on Saturday (March 23). He scored 63 off 28 balls to take his side agonisingly close to victory. This time, Klaasen could do battle with Jasprit Bumrah. Where Bumrah’s overs are bowled will be an interesting dilemma for Hardik Pandya and his charges.
Although Bumrah missed the IPL 2023 with a back injury, he made his comeback to the league in the first match of the 2024 season in Mumbai’s game against Gujarat Titans.
Mumbai’s opening match of the season where new captain Hardik Pandya was booed by large sections of the crowd, left a sour taste in some mouths. His captaincy decisions will now be under the scanner against SRH, after some of his choices made in Mumbai’s tournament opener were questioned.

SRH vs MI: Prediction for today’s IPL match
Mumbai Indians have won four of their last five matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which puts them in the superior position. MI feel like a slightly more well rounded team that Sunrisers, aside from Klaasen and Bhuvneshwar, they lack the same star quality as Mumbai. However, Mumbai aren’t quite as intimidating as they’ve been in the past. Suryakumar Yadav is still recovering from surgery while they only used three overseas slot for their tournament opener. MI still probably take the favourites tag, but there’s room for SRH to cause an upset.
