With six points from seven games, Delhi Capitals are sixth on the points table, but a big win here will bring them back into the reckoning. The camp hinted that David Warner was “80 to 85 percent fit”. If he plays, it is very likely as a batter who will be substituted in (or out) using the Impact Player rule.

This season, Sunrisers Hyderabad have set, then improved on, the record for the highest total in IPL history. With eight points from six matches, they are at fourth place, and have looked one of the most dangerous batting outfits in this season. However, the Delhi spinners were magnificent in their last game, against the Gujarat Titans at Ahmedabad, and the outcome may depend on the surface.

The Arun Jaitley Stadium has a reputation for flat pitches. That may result in another run-fest, lending an advantage to SRH. DC, however, have a superior set of spinners, and Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav may decide the match on a slow turner.

While the latter may be a more logical approach, it must be remembered that this will be the first match of the season at this venue, which may prompt the curators to dish out high-scoring belters to avoid criticism.
