If he does not, the impressive Naman Dhir will continue to hold on to his place. A matter of intrigue will be whether they pick Mohammad Nabi, who may address their batting and bowling woes in one go.

Delhi Capitals’ wait for Kuldeep Yadav continues. There is no update on his availability for the match yet. If he does not, Delhi may back Axar Patel with Anrich Nortje and their assortment of Indian fast bowlers.

Later in the evening, all eyes will be on Mayank Yadav, but the Lucknow Super Giants unit has a couple of questions as well. Marcus Stoinis is yet to have a top outing, and with Kyle Mayers in the wings, his time may run out at some point. Devdutt Padikkal is under some pressure as well. The promising Arshin Kulkarni – he bowls as well – may get a look-in.

Kane Williamson had an ordinary outing as David Miller’s replacement against the Punjab Kings. There is no update on Miller’s availability, and if he does not return, Williamson may continue to hold on to his place. Gujarat may also go in with Abhinav Manohar and leave the Impact Player option open.
