Slowest IPL century
While Kohli carried his bat for RCB (for the second time this season), his century was also the joint-slowest in IPL history. As pointed by statistician Mazher Arshad, he reached his hundred of 67 balls, making it the slowest on Indian soil, and the joint slowest after Manish Pandey’s 67-ball effort in the 2009 IPL in South Africa.
Slow against spin?
Kohli had contrasting fortunes against pace and spin against RR: he struck at 171.79 against the quicks, but the same figure read 139.39 against spin. He hit 12 fours and four sixes in all, remaining unbeaten on 113 off 72, as RCB finished on 183-3 after 20 overs.
