IPL 2021 MI v CSK preview: Dream11 prediction, fantasy tips & probable XI for Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings

MI CSK Dream11 Preview
by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

In the 27th game of IPL 2021, Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) – here are some Dream11 fantasy predictions and tips for the game.

Mumbai Indians are slowly starting to hit the right notes, despite making some questionable calls in the previous game. The flexibility in using Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard, and the success with it, should encourage them to try the same against Chennai Super Kings. The Super Kings have been the team of the season thus far, not just winning five of the six matches, but doing so with a massive net run rate. Their bowling has been potent upfront and it’s where they will hope to test Mumbai the most in Saturday’s fixture. The Delhi wicket has seen excessive dew in the second half and the teams will hope to exploit that if they win the toss.

MI CSK Dream11 Fantasy tips

  • Rohit Sharma is a suspect pick for this game due to his negative match up with Deepak Chahar upfront, especially given the movement early on in the Delhi wicket. It’s still a gamble given how Rohit could easily tee off after that.
  • Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya have been patchy, but given the CSK attack, both should be good picks for this fixture That said, you needn’t be able to squeeze in both. Krunal Pandya is likely to be moved up the order again after his exploits against Rajasthan and it makes his fantasy value high as he could also bowl his full quota of overs.
  • Deepak Chahar and Faf du Plessis are must haves from the CSK line-up. Chahar adds new ball value in a venue like Delhi while du Plessis has been in really good form. Gaikwad also comes in based on recent form, but he remains a suspect player against that MI bowling line-up.
  • Rahul Chahar has been exceptional and is a better pick than Jasprit Bumrah who CSK are likely to look to play out, reducing his fantasy value. Trent Boult and Lungi Ngidi are good in the top-tail role and have chances of getting more wickets than Bumrah even if they don’t necessarily bowl better.
