IPL 2021 DC v RCB preview: Dream11 prediction, fantasy tips & probable XI for Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

In the 22nd game of IPL 2021, Delhi Capitals (DC) take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – here are some Dream11 fantasy predictions and tips for the game.

The Ahmedabad leg begins for both teams with question marks around their ability to cope to different surfaces. Royal Challengers Bangalore would have expected to end their Mumbai leg with a win, but instead copped a bashing from Chennai Super Kings and will hope for redemption.
Delhi have managed to scrape through, but importantly look good to capitalise on the latter half of the season. Their bowling needs an uplift as they play in Ahmedabad where bowlers are better off banging the ball into the wicket. The Super Over win will probably give them a kick in the backside and prompt them to amp up their game.

DC RCB Dream11 Fantasy tips

  • Virat Kohli is a hard omission for this game, with several good points having high credits. Devdutt Padikkal, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell should give you good balance on the RCB front.
  • No real weakness for de Villiers in the DC line-up, making him a potent pick as captain. Shikhar Dhawan is the other safe pick given his returns so far this season on true surfaces.
  • Harshal Patel still adds value as a death bowler despite Ravindra Jadeja slamming him for a record 37 runs the other day. Patel’s wicket-taking ability makes up for his economy. Rabada is another good pick for his death bowling value.
  • Axar Patel and Washington Sundar add middle overs value. You could also have Amit Mishra for Sundar if you think you want to go Delhi heavy.
  • Shaw and Padikkal are attacking in the powerplay and one of them could take off again in this game. If you wish to go left-field with your captaincy in a grand league contest, Padikkal or Shaw won’t be a bad bet.
  • Deepak Hooda and Mohammed Shami should also be in your XI, the latter in particular as he matches up well against the KKR top and middle-order and could also get wickets in the death. Shami is a decent captaincy choice too for this game.
