by Wisden Staff 2 minute read

The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League will be held in India, with the tournament set to commence on March 23, the BCCI confirmed on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court of India appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) met in Delhi to discuss the venues and window.

With India’s upcoming Lok Sabha election, set to take place between April and May, the CoA have announced an early start to the tournament in March.

The 2009 edition and part of the 2014 tournament were held in South Africa and the UAE respectively.

The BCCI are yet to announce the full schedule date of final, with the CoA set to have a detailed discussion with all the relevant stakeholders.

“The detailed schedule will be finalised in consultation with the appropriate authorities. The COA will then have detailed discussion with all the Stakeholders before releasing the schedule,” BCCI said in a release.
