England will host New Zealand for a three-match Test series starting on June 2 — here’s the full schedule, match list, venue details and match timings of ENG vs NZ 2022.
England, under a new captain and coach, will begin their home summer with a three-match series against the Black Caps. Ben Stokes will be the captain of the side after Joe Root stepped down in April, while Brendon McCullum takes over from Chris Silverwood, who was sacked after a 4-0 drubbing in the 2021/22 Ashes.
England have won just one Test in their last 17 attempts, and have made a number of changes to their squad, including recalling experienced duo James Anderson and Stuart Broad after they had been left out of the tour to West Indies. Harry Brook and Matthew Potts have been given maiden call-ups to the squad.
The hosts will be without experienced seamers such as Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes and Mark Wood due to injuries.
The World Test Championship winners New Zealand, on the other hand, will see Kane Williamson, who has not played a single Test since November 2021, return to the set-up as captain. Batting all-rounder Michael Bracewell has been given his maiden call-up, while spin duties will fall upon Ajaz Patel and Rachin Ravindra.
The first Test will be held at Lord’s, before the action shifts to Trent Bridge and Headingley. New Zealand have warmed up for the series by playing Sussex and the County Select XI.
