Zimbabwe’s tour of Namibia will commence on 17th May 2022 with a T20I at Bulawayo – here’s the Zim vs Nam 2022 schedule, containing the full list of fixtures and match timings for the tour.
Zimbabwe, whose last T20I assignment was against Scotland in September 2021 (ahead of the T20 World Cup), will be welcoming Namibia for a five-match T20I series. As far as international cricket is concerned, Zimbabwe last faced Sri Lanka in an ODI series in January 2022, which ended 2-1 in the Lankans’ favour. The African nation will be looking to put their best foot forward and would want to make the rubber as tough as possible for their continental rivals.
Namibia, meanwhile, would be wanting to build on a promising campaign at the 2021 T20 World Cup, where they defied the odds and qualified for the second phase of the competition. They couldn’t get the better of Afghanistan, India, New Zealand and Pakistan but did defeat Scotland in what was a historic day in Namibian cricket. They have since played Uganda in the shortest format and won their most recent series against them by a 2-1 margin.
Both Namibia and Zimbabwe have relatively full-strength squads to choose from. The hosts will be led by Craig Ervine and will be able to call upon the likes of Donald Tiripano, Regis Chakabva, and Sikandar Raza. The visitors, on the other hand, will be banking on skipper Gerhard Erasmus and David Wiese.
